Dream job, besides mayor? Radio DJ. Malik Evans shares his favorite tracks with us.
Imagine Mayor Malik Evans as a radio DJ, spinning records instead of governing the city. In an alternate universe, that's how Evans would make his living, he told us during a recent interview.
He grew up with the hip-hop culture, idolizing his older brother's record collection and listening to the sounds of his parents' generation.
"I can talk to you about Sam Cooke all the way up until SZA," Evans said. He believes the knowledge helps him connect with many people throughout Rochester.
So we got curious about the mayor's musical taste. The Democrat and Chronicle asked him to share a playlist of some of his favorite tracks.
