Driver identified after fatal crash involving Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office unit

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque police have identified the victim who was killed after being involved in a crash with a Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) vehicle on Wednesday.

APD identified the victim as 43-year-old Alexandria Gerard. The crash happened near Alameda and Edith just after midnight on Wednesday.

According to BCSO, the deputy attempted to pull over Gerard twice before he rear-ended the vehicle.

APD said the Gerard was not wearing a seatbelt and drove into a wall. Gerard died on scene. BCSO said the deputy was placed on administrative leave while APD is investigating the crash.
