CANTON, Ohio (WJW) – A classic ice cream parlor that’s been around since the 1920s is closed after an incident inside the store.
“We had an unexpected visitor in the middle of the night,” Taggarts Ice Cream wrote on its Facebook page, along with photos of a Honda crashed into the store’s dining room.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Honda was stolen. The car crashed while troopers were pursuing it early Monday just after 2 a.m.
OSHP reports troopers had attempted a traffic stop, when the driver of the Honda made a high-speed backing maneuver, which took the car directly into the ice cream shop.
OSHP said the driver, identified as Preston Cingle, 23, ran away but was caught by Canton police a short time later.

No one was hurt, but the classic ice cream parlor is indefinitely closed.
“Fortunately, there are no injuries…Everyone is safe and we are going to work diligently to get Taggarts back open,” the business wrote on Facebook.
Cingle faces more than half a dozen charges, including grand theft of a motor vehicle and OVI.
He was booked into the Stark County Jail.
Taggarts has been in business in Canton since 1926.
