East Aurora restaurant temporarily closed after worker was hit and killed by a train
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Left Coast Taco in East Aurora says they are closed until further notice after one of their employees was hit and killed by a train Wednesday afternoon.
East Aurora police received a call reporting a person struck by a train just before 2:20 p.m. Officials arrived on location near the Oakwood Avenue railroad viaduct and determined that an adult male had been hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. The victim was identified on Monday as 19-year-old Jett Hamann from East Aurora.
Left Coast Taco on Elm Street announced their closure around 10 a.m. Thursday. The restaurant told WIVB News that “we are a tight group and our staff’s wellbeing and the young man’s family is our only concern at this time.”
They say they will reopen when their team is ready.
