East Baton Rouge deputies arrest 2 men in connection to beating death of roommate at trailer park

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPOUD) — Two men were arrested in connection to the beating death of their roommate at a trailer park on Hooper Road.

Around 1:45 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, East Baton Rouge deputies were dispatched to the 7900 block of Hooper Road to investigate a homicide after they received a call about a suspicious incident.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they noticed a significant amount of blood in front of trailer lot No. 52. According to an affidavit, as deputies scanned the area, they found blood leading to lot No. 50, where they approached Hugo Molina-Campos, 26, who was covered in blood.

As deputies were completing a sweep of trailer lot No. 50, they located a Hispanic male victim on the bedroom floor. The victim, who was identified as William Garcia Aguilero, was found dead and covered in blood, according to an affidavit.

Walker man arrested, accused of raping child, police say

An affidavit stated Aguilero, “appeared he had apparent signs of trauma to his head and was covered in blood.”

During the investigation, Molina-Campos admitted to beating Aguilero to death with a baseball bat after getting into an argument. Douglas Carcamo-Fuentez, 18, admitted to helping Molina-Campos cleanup following the crime, according to EBRSO.

Molina-Campos was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and obstruction of justice. Carcamo-Fuentez was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice.
