East Baton Rouge deputies investigating Thursday call saying person was barricaded in apartment

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is investigating after there were reports that someone was barricaded in a Zachary apartment complex on Thursday, July 11.

EBRSO responded to the Audubon Park Apartment Homes in the 1200 block of Mount Pleasant-Zachary Road around 7 p.m. Thursday.

The agency’s SWAT Team “checked the area to ensure everyone was safe,” said EBRSO. They were unable to locate any subject as described on the call, and no injuries were reported.

The Zachary Police Department and the Louisiana State Police assisted with the scene, along with EBRSO.

EBRSO said it is possible this incident was a hoax, and they are investigating to determine who made the call.
