East Baton Rouge school board finalizes contract for deputy superintendent
BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — East Baton Rouge School Board members finalized and approved Adam Smith’s contract for his new role as deputy superintendent on Thursday, Aug. 15.
Smith was voted in as deputy superintendent during a special meeting in July, after LaMont Cole was chosen to be the permanent superintendent.
His contract was voted on by six members with one abstaining at the meeting. His contract went into effect on Aug. 15. Since Smith served as interim superintendent, he’ll be required to provide transitional support to Cole up until Oct. 31, under the same pay as his contract when he signed in January.
