East Tennessee artists garner nominations in 58th CMA Awards

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Country music stars from East Tennessee are likely to shine brighter in November for the 58th annual Country Music Association Awards after nominations were announced Monday morning.

No stranger to the spotlight, Sneedville’s own Morgan Wallen has emerged as the top-nominated country artist this year overall with seven; one of those nominations includes Entertainer of the Year, alongside other nominees Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, Chris Stapleton, and Lainey Wilson. Wallen is also up for Male Vocalist of the Year.

Knoxville’s Kelsea Ballerini is up for Female Vocalist of the Year.

The CMA Awards, also known as Country Music’s Biggest Night? will air live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 20 on WATE.
