U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego and former television broadcaster Kari Lake are battling for Arizona's open seat in the U.S. Senate.
Gallego, a Democrat, is a five-term veteran of Congress. Lake ran unsuccessfully for governor in 2022.
It's a tight race that could affect which party controls the Senate next year under a new president. Several other states have competitive Senate races in 2024, including Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Ohio.
It's the fifth straight election cycle in which Arizonans are voting for a U.S. senator. The winner will succeed Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, I-Ariz., who announced in March she would not seek a second six-year term.
