Eminem To Make Appearance At VP Kamala Harris’ Detroit Rally
Election Day is officially two weeks away (Nov. 5) and both parties are pulling out all the stops to secure every vote possible. VP Kamala Harris is holding her rally tonight (Oct. 22) in battleground state of Michigan, and it is set to feature a special guest: Eminem.
The rapper, who is a proud Detroit native, will officially appear at the rally but will not perform. According to CNN, Em will introduce former President Barack Obama at the campaign event.
Slim Shady’s support of the Democratic Party isn’t much of a surprise; he also endorsed the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris ticket back in 2020 by green-lighting the use of his “Lose Yourself” hit in a campaign ad at the time.
Additionally, the legendary 51-year-old has repeatedly expressed his disdain for Harris’ opponent, Donald Trump. In an August 2023 clip, Em accused Trump of “brainwashing” his supporters “into thinking something great is going to happen. Nothing’s happening.” He also went in on the Republican nominee during his 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards freestyle called “The Storm.”
Besides keeping up with the big election, Eminem has been busy throughout 2024 with his latest project release. The Death of Slim Shady was released on July 12, 2024. It includes 19 tracks and boasts features from Big Sean, Babytron, JID, White Gold, Sly Pyper, Bizarre, Ez Mil, Jelly Roll, Skylar Grey, and 2 Chainz. The project was a commercial success, garnering another accolade for the 51-year-old artist as he became the first rapper to have an album on the Billboard 200 chart for 700 weeks.
