Emperor Palpatine actor added to Twin Cities Con, will appear with Hayden Christensen

Everything that has transpired has done so according to his design.

Ian McDiarmid, best known for playing Emperor Palpatine in the Star Wars movies and shows, has been announced as a guest at this fall's Twin Cities Con.

The actor played the Sith lord as far back as 1983's Return of the Jedi. He continued the role in the '90s-'00s prequel trilogy and as recently as The Rise of Skywalker and the Disney+ TV series Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The addition of McDiarmid makes this year's con significant for Star Wars fans. Hayden Christensen was already set for a headlining appearance, making this a reunion for Anakin Skywalker and the man who put him on the path to becoming Darth Vader.

The pair will pose together for fan photos on Nov. 9, the only day on which Christensen will appear.

Twin Cities Con, which takes place at the Minneapolis Convention Center from Nov. 8–10, also announced a dozen others who will make guest appearances, including Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong, and Will Friedle of Boy Meets World, who are now known for their popular podcast, Pod Meets World.

Other new additions include comedian Brian Posehn (Mr. Show, Friends); John Dimaggio, the voice of Bender on Futurama;  Alex Brightman, Vivienne Medrano, Brandon Rogers, and Morgana Ignis of Helluva Boss (three of which are also part of Hazbin Hotel); Diane Guerrero (Encanto, Doom Patrol); Olivia Olson (Adventure Time, Phineas & Ferb), Josh Keaton (Voltron: Legendary Defender, Spider-Man), and a performance from Tom Kenny and the Hi-Seas.

Other previously announced guests include Lou Diamond Phillips, Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Stephanie Beatriz (Brooklyn 99, Encanto), and professional wrestlers Sting, Swerve Strickland, Danhausen, and Deonna Purrazzo.
