Eric Hovde is among the speakers for Day 2 of the RNC in Milwaukee
The second evening of the RNC will kick off with the theme of immigration and, more specifically, “President Biden’s failure to secure the border,” according to the RNC session overview.
Tuesday's slogan is "Make America Safe Once Again."
Immigration has been a lynchpin of former President Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. On the campaign trail, Trump has blamed Biden for the rise in violent crimes, fentanyl overflowing from the Southern border, and undocumented immigrants killing U.S. citizens.
Many of these claims have been found to be false, overexaggerated or lacking evidence, but a recent CNN poll shows that nearly 50% of Americans support aggressive mass deportation of undocumented immigrants.
Alex Floyd, the rapid response director for the Democratic National Committee, blasted the theme of the day, noting that Trump is a convicted felon who "represents nothing more than empty words and broken promises when it comes to creating safer communities and securing our border."
