Errol Barnett Will Anchor 7 A.M. Slot at CBS News 24/7
Errol Barnett, a veteran of CBS and CNN, will take up morning-anchor duties at 7 a.m. on CBS 24/7, the CBS News live-streaming hub. His tenure in the hour will start Monday.
Barnett appeared Friday morning as the hour’s current anchor, Anne-Marie Green, bid farewell. She is moving to “48 Hours.” “I know the show is in good hands,” Green told him. “I hope to bring that essence of curiosity and heart that you bring to the table,” he said, noting that coverage on his first day, October 7, would nod to the anniversary of Hamas’ attacks on Israel.

Barnett joined CBS News in 2016, and during his tenure has worked assignments as a weekend White House correspondent and a transportation reporter. He has also worked as a fill-in on “CBS Mornings,” “CBS Saturday Morning” and the “CBS Weekend News,” and he has examined issues pertaining to technology, including documentary features examining cryptocurrency mining and the growth of e-sports. Barnett has anchored a handful of CBS News Special Reports from New York and Washington, D.C., and also covered the recent criminal trial of former President Donald Trump for CBS 24/7.
He previously worked for CNN Barnett, including a stint on CNN International and one hosting “Inside Africa.”
Barnett began his journalism career at age 18 after being hired in Los Angeles as Channel One News’ youngest anchor and reporter. Barnett covered the 9/11 terrorist attacks, then-Senator Barack Obama’s first national speech, interviewed Congressman John Lewis and detailed the New England heroin epidemic.
