An ever more desperate Kari Lake urges Arizona supporters to 'strap on a Glock'
You can picture it, can’t you?
An anguished, disheveled crew of Kari Lake staffers are huddled together late at night in campaign headquarters, frantically trying to come up with something — anything — to get the public’s mind off of Lake’s enthusiastic praise and hearty support for Arizona’s brutal 1864 abortion ban.
The anti-abortion zealot that Lake used to be is now trying to back away from that stance. Like way, way back. Without success. Owing to the public’s negative response to the law’s resurrection.
Then, after hours of brainstorming and three or four rounds of energy drinks a tow-headed intern pops up and says, “I know. How about she says something stupidly inflammatory about guns!”
The room erupts in cheers.
Lake tells supporters to 'strap on a Glock'
Which leads us to Lake telling supporters in Arizona on Tuesday, as reported by NBC News, that they should “strap on a Glock.”
A Glock? Was the oh-so-frantic Lake suggesting there might be violence?
You tell me.
Trump and Lake invent: A new kind of terrorism
She said, “The next six months are going to be difficult. If you are not ready for action, and I have a feeling with as many veterans and former law enforcement, active law enforcement” — Lake paused to ask for a show of hands — “… you guys are ready for it.
“It’s going to be a crazy run, the next six months. This is the moment we have to save our country.”
Kari Lake must think she's losing
She portrayed herself and former President Donald Trump (her personal guru and Dear Leader) as victims, suggesting trouble for them from an undefined “they.”
Or as Lake put it, “They’re going to come after us with everything. That’s why the next six months is going to be intense. And we need to strap on our — let’s see. What do we want to strap on?” Lake asked as some in the crowd chuckled.
“We’re going to strap on our, our seat belt. We’re going to put on our helmet or your Kari Lake ball cap. We are going to put on the armor of God. And maybe strap on a Glock on the side of us just in case.”
This is what happens when a politician believes she is losing.
She tries to change the narrative in the worst possible way … suggesting that zealots strap on firearms.
