Falls Fire now 85 square miles; Level 3 ‘Go Now’ evacs issued
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Level 3 “Go Now” evacuation notices have been issued for parts of Harney and Grant counties due to the Falls Fire, which has now grown to over 85 square miles since it sparked Wednesday morning.
Located 25 miles northwest of Burns, Oregon, officials say the Falls Fire is at 55,000 acres as of Sunday afternoon and is 0% contained.

The Oregon State Fire Marshal announced Sunday that they are sending an incident management team as well as four task forces to combat the blaze.
Level 3 “Go Now” evacuations: West of Highway 395 from Poison Creek to Silvies Valley, south of Jump Creek and Crooked Creek Meadows, east of Emigrant Creek and Forest Service 41. Also extending south toward Burns at an estimated 8 to10 miles from town.
Level 2 “Be Set” evacuations: East of Highway 395 N between Highway 20 and Silvies Valley, west of Highway 395 and Forest Service Boundary, south and east of Forest Road 63 and Big Flat, East of Forest Road 41, and 2 miles north of Burns.
Level 1 “Be Ready” evacuations: Areas surrounding the Level 2 evacuation zones.
Officials say the fire was human-caused and it remains under investigation.
