As Florida braces for the impact of Hurricane Helene, Ginger Zee is on the scene—but viewers are worried about her safety as she covers the dangerous storm.

In a video posted on Instagram on Thursday, Sept. 26, Zee reported from the top of a platform on a St. Petersburg beach, just feet away from the crashing ocean waves.

"I don't know if you can hear me, I hope you can, I'm here in St. Petersburg," Zee said, pausing to notice a particularly large swell.

"Whoo! A big wave coming over the sea wall here," she exclaimed through the wind and rain.

Zee explained the current storm conditions, noting the situation was more dramatic in neighboring areas. "So you know, obviously we're doing it very safely, this area could see a 4-to-8 feet surge, and so we are covering the storm here," she said.

"It's a really wide storm," the TV personality added before discussing the potential for tornadoes and flooding.

"Live from St. Petersburg florida - sea wall seeing major breeches now and storm still more than 290 miles southwest of us. Update coming at 11 am but here’s info for now," she captioned her Instagram update.

"Stay safe! I would love to see a segment on what you & crew take with you. Water, food, supplies," wrote one fan.

"Be safe! Thank you and the crew for the life-saving information," commented a second person.

"I know you love reporting the storm in-person, but be careful because those surges and riptides can just take you away to sea, please stay away from the ??," warned another Instagram user.

According to ABC News, Helene could bring a  "life-threatening storm surge" to the west coast of the Florida Peninsula, reaching 15 to 20 feet in the Florida Panhandle.
