Fans Warning ’GMA’s Ginger Zee to ‘Be Careful’ After Seeing Worrying Video
As the chief meteorologist for Good Morning America, Ginger Zee is used to reporting about the weather amid less-than-ideal conditions. A recent worrying video, however, had fans warning her to be careful.
On Monday, Aug. 5, Zee posted a clip via Instagram of herself reporting from Florida as Tropical Storm Debby barreled through the area. The storm hit the "Sunshine State" as a Category 1 hurricane but has since been downgraded to a tropical storm.
"With max sustained winds of 80 miles per hour, storm surge is still the immediate threat over the next couple of hours," Zee, 43, said while standing next to the ocean as powerful waves crashed behind her. "And we'll be taking on water here on the southwest side of Florida all day. But I want to show you, 6 to 10 feet still possible."
As the storm moves very slowly north across the East Coast, Zee warned of "history-making flooding" in Georgia and South Carolina.

Another Instagram user commented, "Be safe thank you for the coverage," while someone else echoed, "Oh my??. Be careful and be safe, Ginger??."
Meanwhile, yet another fan shared, "Thank You Ginger for Your Outstanding Coverage. Please You And Your Crew Keep Safe ??????????????."
As Zee mentioned in the Instagram video, she will "unfortunately, be moving up the coast with" Tropical Storm Debby as it progresses throughout this week.
