Farah Griffin criticizes GOP for putting Britt in kitchen: ‘Bizarre’
Former White House aide turned CNN pundit Alyssa Farah Griffin called the staging for a response given by Sen. Katie Britt (R-Ala.) to President Biden’s State of the Union address “bizarre.”
She said Britt is a “rising star” within the GOP and called her “an incredibly impressive person,” but she noted “the staging of this was bizarre” to her.
“Women can be both wives and mothers and also stateswomen,” she continued. “So to put her in a kitchen, not in front of a podium or in the Senate chamber where she was elected where she won a very hard fought race, I felt fell very flat and was confusing to some women watching it.”
Farah Griffin, who is also a co-host of ABC’s “The View,” called the content of Britt’s speech “great” but said “the staging was just very, very bizarre.”
During her rebuttal of Biden’s more than hourlong speech Thursday night, Britt railed against the president’s policies on immigration, the economy and a number of other issues.
Britt was elected to the Senate in 2023 as the youngest woman ever elected to the body.
