Wildfire burning near Travis Air Force Base in Solano County

(KRON) — A wildfire is burning Tuesday afternoon near the Travis Air Force Base, according to Solano County officials. The fire is in the area of Denverton Road and Creed Road near Suisun City.

The fire, dubbed the Denverton Fire, was initially reported around 1:30 p.m. to be approximately 25 acres. About an hour later, the fire had grown to 470 acres with 60 acres contained.

As of 2:30 p.m., forward progress on the fire has stopped. No structures are threatened, and no evacuations are issued at this time.

Evacuations ordered as Toll Fire grows to 50 acres

Both the westbound and eastbound lanes of Highway 12 at Denverton Road are blocked, according to a 511 alert. There is no estimated time for when the roads will reopen, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Cal Fire said.

No other details were immediately available.
