Fire causes $350k in damage to Niagara Street structure
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A fire in a 2 1/2 story building on Niagara Street caused an estimated $350,000 in damage Friday afternoon, according to Buffalo officials.
The Buffalo Fire Department responded to the call at 811 Niagara Street around 2:04 p.m. The fire started in the ceiling of the second floor and extended throughout the attic, officials said.
Officials confirmed that the structure was occupied. A firefighter was taken to ECMC to be treated for heat exhaustion.
The damage was estimated at $250,000 to the structure and $100,000 to the contents.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
