Fire causes $50,000 in damages to Appleton apartment, cause undetermined
APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – An early Friday morning fire at an apartment complex in Appleton caused roughly $50,000 in estimated damages and firefighters are investigating the incident.
Around 3:30 a.m. on June 28, a call came into dispatch about a possible fire at an apartment in the 3200 block of East Parkside Boulevard, a release from the Appleton Fire Department stated.

When crews arrived, light smoke was showing from a first-floor apartment, with fire alarms sounding and residents already in the process of evacuating.
The fire was brought under control within 15 minutes and searches of all of the apartment’s units were made.
It was noted that firefighters are still working to determine a cause, but charging lithium-ion batteries were near the area of origin and contributed to the fire’s spread.

Damage to the building and its contents is estimated to be around $50,000.
The Appleton Police Department assisted the Appleton FD during the incident. No additional information was provided.
