Fire starts after improperly disposed fireworks in Lake Oswego
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Fourth of July started early in Lake Oswego after discarded fireworks led to a fire Wednesday night, officials said.
According to Lake Oswego Fire, crews responded to a dumpster fire at the Westlake shopping center which had started after fireworks were improperly discarded.
Authorities said two teens had been seen in the parking lot lighting off fireworks before the fire.

By the time firefighters arrived, crews said the fire had extended from the dumpster to its enclosure and the building next to it.
The fire was safely put out and Lake Oswego Fire are reminding the community to soak fireworks before throwing them away.
