Are fireworks legal where I live? Here’s where they’re allowed in the Sacramento area

(FOX40.COM) — As the Fourth of July holiday approaches, it is important to remember that some counties in the Sacramento area have different regulations regarding fireworks.

Some counties prohibit fireworks everywhere while other counties allow fireworks in certain communities.

In places where fireworks are allowed in California, only “Safe and Sane” fireworks are legal and should be labeled. Illegal fireworks are those that fly or explode.

Using illegal fireworks could result in fines.

Here are the rules and regulations for fireworks for communities in the Sacramento area.

Sacramento County

Fireworks are allowed throughout Sacramento County. However, it is unlawful to possess or sell Safe and Sane fireworks without a business license and retail sales are only allowed from temporary fireworks stands, according to Sacramento Metro Fire.

In the unincorporated area of Sacramento County, officials said fireworks can only be purchased between noon on June 28 to 9 p.m. on July 4, and they can only be lit up on July 4 from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

There are similar restrictions in Citrus Heights and Rancho Cordova.
