Flavor Flav Trolls Trump’s Claim Of Immigrants Eating Pets With Warning To Snoop Dogg, Pitbull

Flavor Flav has a comical response to recent xenophobic accusations made by former President Donald Trump. On Tuesday night (Sept. 10), the 65-year-old took to social media to joke that certain musicians should be on high alert after the Republican presidential candidate falsely suggested immigrants were consuming house pets in Ohio.

Trump doubled-down on the conspiracy during his first official debate against Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the 2024 presidential election, where both politicians hope to be voted into the White House.

“Pet Shop Boys better stay inside and lock the doors,” Flavor Flav posted to X on Tuesday. “You too Snoop Dogg. And Pitbull.”

On Monday, Springfield, Ohio police clarified they have received no reports related to pets being stolen and eaten after a social media post originally from a Springfield Facebook group went viral, per Springfield News-Sun. In the upload, the user claimed that their neighbor’s daughter’s friend had lost her cat and found it hanging at a Haitian neighbor’s home being carved for a meal. Immigrants were also falsely accused of eating ducks and geese at local parks.

That same day, Trump’s Vice Presidential candidate Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) amplified the fake news across social media. According to Axios, Elon Musk and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz also shared the false story with baseless claims. Additionally, a statement from the Trump campaign, titled, “Kamala Migrants Ravage Ohio City — And It’s Coming To Your City Next,” alleged “20,000 Haitian migrants were dumped in the city.”

“Months ago, I raised the issue of Haitian illegal immigrants draining social services and generally causing chaos all over Springfield, Ohio. Reports now show that people have had their pets abducted and eaten by people who shouldn’t be in this country. Where is our border czar?” shared Vance.

Trump echoed Vance’s rhetoric and doubled-down on the rumors on the national debate stage.

“They’re eating the dogs. They’re eating the cats. They’re eating the pets of the people that live there,” Trump exclaimed to Harris’ disapproval. Debate moderators World News Tonight anchor and managing editor David Muir and ABC News Live Prime anchor Linsey Davis, also called out the illegitimacy of the claims, repeating city officials’ statements that those stories are not true.

Vance acknowledged Tuesday it was possible “all of these rumors will turn out to be false,” however still relayed in a follow-up post, “Don’t let the crybabies in the media dissuade you, fellow patriots. Keep the cat memes flowing.”

According to the Associated Press, Springfield has a population of roughly 60,000 residents, with an estimated overall immigrant population of 15,000 in the county.
