Flight cancellations ahead of Hurricane Francine’s landfall
KENNER, La. (WGNO) — Travelers arriving and departing from the Louis Armstrong International Airport are seeing flight cancellations as a result of Hurricane Francine’s potential impact.
According to the Fly MSY website, all arrivals and departures have been canceled.
Francine continues to strengthen with wind now at 90mph.
Director Of Communications for the Louis Armstrong Airport Erin Burns said they are not anticipating to close the airport but more flights are expected to be canceled Thursday morning.
The individual airports are expected to make the official call.
“We do advise the public that if you are at the airport when the storm comes and you find yourself in a situation where your flight is canceled, make other arrangements to ride out the storm. The airport does not have the resources to operate as a public shelter,” said Burns.
