CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — One Central Illinois organization is looking to expand in the film industry.

Flyover Studios will be partnering with Parkland College to get it done. Their goal is to help students realize their career can get started right in here in Central Illinois. They’ll be providing students with a hands-on internship to get them more familiarized with the industry. They’re working to get three to four students each semester.

Founder of Flyover Studios Dustin Hoke said they’ve been working on this partnership since spring. The Parkland theatre director reached out to Flyover Studios to see what was needed on their end to get this partnership going.

“We’re filling this gap to hopefully, like I said, round out our local workforce to where, you know, our friends in Chicago or other places can stay there and work,” Hoke said. “And we have folks here local that we can plug into these productions.”

Students will get to learn day to day operations like working with social media content, music videos, wardrobe, camera work, building stages, and more. They’re still working out what this partnership will fully be, but are hoping to get started by spring.
