Fond du Lac Culver's fire results in smoke and water damage, brief closure
FOND DU LAC — If you want a ButterBurger, you won't be able to get one Friday at one of the Culver's locations in Fond du Lac.
The restaurant is closed after a fire early Friday morning. Fond du Lac firefighters arrived at the scene of a Culver’s on fire with smoke coming from the roof.
At approximately 1:50 a.m. April 26, Fond du Lac Fire Rescue was dispatched to 81 W. Pioneer Road after a report of an attic fire.
The fire was reported by a construction company doing work on the roof, according to a FDLFR news release about the fire.

Lack of access and small void spaces made it difficult for firefighters to access the attic, resulting in crews opening multiple holes in the ceiling.
Once firefighters were able to access the fire through the holes, it was extinguished quickly. However, the fire and extinguishing process did result in smoke and water damage to the building.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Town of Fond du Lac Fire Department, North Fond du Lac Fire Department, Lamartine Fire Department and FDL Police Department all assisted with the incident.
