Fond du Lac police arrest suspect who fled inside a Dairy Queen before crashing car on a golf course
FOND DU LAC — A 35-year-old Fond du Lac man was taken into custody after police suspected him of destroying property and physically assaulting someone in a home Monday.
At about 12:25 p.m. April 22, the Fond du Lac Police Department responded to the 600 block of East Merrill Avenue after a report about the man destroying property and physically assaulting someone.
As officers responded to the scene, the suspect was being driven to SSM Health St. Agnes Hospital-Fond du Lac by his girlfriend, according to the news release recounting the incident.
When FDLPD arrived at the hospital, the suspect showed “bizarre and erratic behaviors, severe agitation and violence towards others,” the release said.
At one point, the man reportedly “slammed” his girlfriend against the vehicle and drove it out of the parking lot at high speed.
As FDLPD and Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office deputies flooded the scene, the man went into the 387 Fond du Lac Ave. Dairy Queen service area without permission.
Two employees reportedly suffered minor injuries while trying to stop the man from entering the storage area and pushing him out of the restaurant.
The man then drove into a neighborhood around the South Hills Golf & Country Club. A K-9 team and two drone units were deployed in the area while officers set up a perimeter.

The vehicle the man was driving was found crashed on the golf course and a homeowner alerted police the man ran behind his home. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident, according to the release.
After being transferred back to the hospital to be medically cleared, the man was brought to the Fond du Lac County Jail. He is facing multiple, unspecified, charges, according to the release. Police did not release his name.
No further information or details were immediately released.
