During a rally in Glendale in the swing state, the song “My Hero” was played, and now the band, fronted by Dave Grohl, is breaking their silence.

“Let us be clear,” the band’s social media account on X/Twitter posted.

The band shared a screenshot of an exchange with another X user asking Foo Fighters if they had let Trump use their song.

“No,” Foo Fighters replied.

A Foo Fighters representative said in a statement to EW, “Foo Fighters were not asked permission, and if they were, they would not have granted it.” The band also noted that they would donate royalties generates from Trump’s usage of the song to Kamala Harris’ campaign.

Earlier this month, Celine Dion’s team also publicly rejected the Trump campaign used the singer’s “My Heart Will Go On” during a rally.

“Today, Celine Dion’s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing ‘My Heart Will Go On’ at a Donald Trump / JD Vance campaign rally in Montana,” read the statement from August 10.

“In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use,” the statement continued. “…And really, THAT song?”
