Forecasts agree on high temperature for Monday in Erie, vary on sun and clouds for eclipse
Eyes will be turned to the sky Monday for the solar eclipse, but they're likely to spend the next three days looking at weather forecasts for April 8 in Erie.
Will it be sunny? Cloudy? Rainy?
While it's true that weather forecasts can change from day to day and even from hour to hour, here's a general look at what forecasters on Thursday were calling for on Monday in Erie.
Both the National Weather Service and AccuWeather were putting the high temperature for Monday in the mid-50s.
Descriptions have included partly sunny and partly cloudy, depending on the source and the time of the forecast. The NWS on Thursday was leaning more optimistic for Monday, calling for it to be partly sunny. AccuWeather was going with mostly cloudy for Monday afternoon and its total solar eclipse cloud forecast, which was updated Thursday, said there was concern that a band of clouds will move across western/central Pennsylvania and New York.
Both weather sites were calling for a chance of rain Monday.
