BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A former Mount Mercy Academy teacher and school bus driver has pleaded guilty to DWI in connection to driving a group of high school students back from an after school club drunk last February.

Natalie Alvut, 35, was driving students back to Mount Mercy from Holiday Valley on Feb. 1. Students allegedly noticed that Alvut was driving the wrong way, driving “erratically” and swerving on the road.

The students were able to convince Alvut to pull over at Ischua Valley Country Club in Franklinville, where police said she blew a .2 on a breathalyzer test, more than two times the legal limit.

She is expected back in court at a later date for sentencing.
