Former youth pastor sentenced on child porn charge

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A former youth pastor has been sentenced to seven years in prison for secretly recording a girl changing her clothes in a camper in 2019, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Thursday.

Nathan Rogers, 40, of East Aurora, set up iPhones in his camper to secretly record the girl while she was changing out of a bathing suit during the Kingdom Bound Festival at Darien Lake, officials said.

The girl noticed the cell phones recording her, attempted to delete the videos, and then reported the incident to police. Rogers, who worked as a part-time student pastor for Life Church Buffalo on Seneca Steet, was fired within two days.

In September 2023, he pleaded guilty to one count of attempted receipt of child pornography. He had been facing up to 20 years in prison.
