Fort Eisenhower to hold ‘Independence Celebration’ on Wednesday

FORT EISENHOWER, Ga. (WJBF) – Fort Eisenhower’s “Independence Celebration” will take place Wednesday, July 3 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Fort Eisenhower’s Barton Field.

The event will feature live entertainment from Chris Cagle and Lonestar, food vendors, a kiddie carnival and fireworks show to close out the celebration.

Admission is free to the public and gates open at 5 p.m. Fireworks are expected to begin at 9:45 p.m.

The following items are not allowed at the event:

  • Outside food and beverages or alcoholic beverages

  • Coolers of any size

  • Tents, canopies, and large sunshades

  • Grills or other open flames

  • Pets (Service animals authorized with correct verification)

  • Large bags exceeding 16x16x8 inches

  • Glass containers

  • Weapons of any kind (knives, multi-tools; weapons carried with a permit are prohibited on a federal installation)

  • Personal fireworks, sparklers and explosives

  • Toy guns (including water guns/knives/swords)

  • Laser pointers or devices

  • Artificial noise makers (i.e. Air horns, cowbells, etc.)

Security personnel are allowed to conduct searches of all persons, bags, vehicles and other items that are present.

Fort Eisenhower’s Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) program and community sponsors work to organize the event annually.
