A release from Wise County EMS confirmed 14 people were involved in the wreck and three were dead at the scene. Multiple first responder agencies and helicopters were summoned to the scene.

EMS Chief Randall Preuninger said the van apparently rolled several times.

Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Tony De La Cerda said a fourth person died after being transported from the scene. He said all occupants of the van were adults, and it appears the vehicle came from Florida.

“Per a preliminary investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the driver of the van veered off of the roadway, overcorrected and left the northbound lane,” the Wise County Messenger reported Wednesday.

The EMS press release said three patients were transported by air ambulance in critical condition, six patients had serious injuries and two had non-serious injuries.
