Four-year-old dead in northern Wisconsin after ATV crash involving three under the age of ten

PELICAN, Wis. (WFRV) – Three individuals under the age of ten were involved in an ATV crash on Saturday night that left a four-year-old dead in Oneida County.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report of an ATV accident off of Ruckert Road in the town of Pelican, just outside of Rhinelander.

Eyewitnesses reported that an ATV occupied by three passengers had rolled over, trapping one under the vehicle. The passengers were nine, seven, and four years old, with the four-year-old trapped underneath.

Witnesses attempted life-saving measures, but tragically, the four-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is completing an accident report.
