New update for Fox 8 News app — here’s how to get alerts

(WJW) — Recently, the Fox 8 News app underwent updates to improve your interaction with our stories.

If you have the Fox 8 app installed on your iPhone or Android and are prompted for an update, you will also need to update your alerts settings. Be sure to check your settings. You don’t want to miss out on breaking news locally and nationally, alerts from the FOX 8 weather team and updates regarding the Browns, Guardians and Cavs.

After your updated app launches, you will be given the option to sign up for our push alerts. Choose the alerts you’d like to receive. Click ‘continue,’ and then enter your zip code on the next page.

If your app automatically updated, you can still access alert settings through the app by going to the main menu and choosing ‘settings.’ Here you’ll be able to choose which alerts you want sent to your phone.

This update may be causing issues for some of our users. We apologize for any inconvenience. A new update is coming to resolve any bugs, including with text sizing and audio overlap with the live stream and ads.

Check back for updates!

In the meantime, here is how you can download the news and weather apps:
