When they arrived, firefighters found heavy flames coming from the second-story windows. Bystanders told firefighters they believed an 11-year-old girl was trapped on the second floor.
According to investigators, fire officials first tried to reach the child by the stairwell but “were forced out by high heat.” Firefighters used a ladder and found the girl in a bathroom on the second floor.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
