Got the travel bug? San Diego libraries host pop-up passport services
SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Have you been putting off getting that passport renewed, or getting one at all? Now is the time to change that.
San Diego’s Office of the City Clerk announced Tuesday that passport services will host a variety of pop-up events at local libraries from now through May 2025. Full-service will be provided, including passport photos.
“We’re thrilled to partner with the Library Department to bring rotating passport services to various library branches across the city,” said City Clerk Fuentes. “This initiative will enhance accessibility and promote greater equity in accessing essential travel documents for all San Diego residents.”
For those who need an active passport sooner than later, there are two pop-events scheduled during the summer months. The first will be held on Friday, July 26 at the San Ysidro Library, while the second is slated for Friday, Aug. 2 at the Scripps Miramar Ranch Library. Appointments are now available for both at www.sandiego.gov/passports.
Looking even further in advance, the following library locations will have appointments available 30 days before the event month:
— Mira Mesa Library in Sept. 2024
— Paradise Hills Library in Oct. 2024
— Pacific Beach/Taylor Library in Nov. 2024
— Mission Valley Library in Feb. 2025
— Linda Vista Library in March 2025
— North Park Library in April 2025
— Ocean Beach Library in May 2025
