Bake Room will now be part of the Methodical Coffee brand, as the popular, local coffee purveyor has acquired the dessert shop from its former owner Wade Taylor which was located at 147 Welborn St., Ste. B — also known as The Commons at Unity Park.

Bake Room's closing announcement came on Valentine's Day and left many to question what would become of the vacant space and if anyone would be able to taste its beloved pastries ever again. A month later, the result comes in the form of new ownership, yet with similar breakfast breads to come.

Co-owners Marco Suarez, Will Shurtz and David Baker will transition the techniques and recipes of the Bake Shop into their local brewed beanery, Methodical Coffee — offering similar style croissants, buns, baguettes and sourdough bread that comes from Wade Taylor's recipe book.

"We are longtime friends with Wade, and we have a deep respect for his talent as a skilled baker," said Suarez, co-owner of Methodical Coffee. "We'll be working with Wade during the transition over the next few weeks to ensure our team is well-trained."
