Grey's Anatomy season 21 unveils first look at Jesse Williams return
Grey's Anatomy has released a new look at season 21, including the return of Jesse Williams.
The actor plays Dr Jackson Avery in the medical series, but he left the main cast in 2021. In the new footage, Ellen Pompeo's Meredith Grey is certainly glad to see him back, although he's got quite the serious look on his face.
The teaser also shows Jackson's mother Catherine Fox stepping on more toes. Miranda Bailey isn't having any of her nonsense however, as we see her give Catherine a very satisfying slap. Meredith gives her a bit of cheek at the end too, just for good measure.

In addition to Jackson's return, the new clip teases Sydney Heron's return. Outside of this trailer, we also know that season 21 will feature the return of Natalia Morales' Dr Monica Beltran. She will appear in episode 2 and then for at least five episodes beyond that.
Scott Speedman, who plays Meredith's love interest Nick Marsh, will appear in at least five episodes.
Supergirl star Floriana Lima will make her Grey's debut in episode two as well, and her character Norma will have some history with Owen Hunt.

Speaking last year about a potential return, Williams said: "I always loved that place. I’m always happy to entertain the idea of coming back to direct or make an appearance. The door is open for me. It’s almost like a reunion, a university. I’m an alumni of a university."
Thankfully there isn't long to wait until Grey's makes its return, with season two kicking off in less than two weeks.
Grey's Anatomy season 21 will air premiere on Thursday, September 26 at 10pm ET on ABC in the US. Previous seasons are streaming on Disney+ in the UK.
