Griffon Gastropub to close Transit Road location

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The Griffon Gastropub will close its Transit Road location in August, it announced on social media.

The location will close on Aug. 11. Owners said their lease on the building is not being honored following a sale of the building, despite what they said were “ambitious plans” including exterior improvements and an outdoor patio.

The social media post also says that they are hoping to open a new location in the area soon. The location has been open for 10 years.

“We deeply appreciate our guests at the Clarence location and sincerely hope for an opportunity to reopen a Griffon Gastropub in the area,” they said. “This is a challenging situation for any restaurateur, and the impact on our guests and dedicated staff is what saddens us the most. It’s a tough business, and while restaurant closures are common, this is particularly difficult because our Clarence restaurant was on the brink of a new chapter of growth.”

Gift cards can be used at any of the other locations.
