Groups exchange gunfire at apartment complex, 1 hurt
AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — The Akron Police Department is investigating a shooting at an apartment complex that injured an 18-year-old woman. It happened in the parking lot of Spring Hill Apartments in the 1200 block of Everton Drive just after 4:30 Thursday afternoon.

In a press release, Akron police said two groups of unidentified people exchanged gunfire in the parking lot. An 18-year-old woman was grazed in the leg and taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Several cars in the parking lot were also hit with bullets, police said.
Several apartments were searched as some suspects fled into the apartment buildings after the shooting, the release said. Four firearms were found during the investigation along with shell casings and other evidence, according to police.

No arrests have been made and there are no known suspects at this time. The shooting remains under investigation.
