Gun intercepted at security checkpoint at Buffalo airport
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A loaded gun was intercepted at the security checkpoint at Buffalo Niagara International Airport on Tuesday, the TSA said Wednesday.
The gun, a 9mm loaded with 11 bullets including one in the chamber, was among a Williamsville man’s carry-on items.
The man was questioned and later released due to him having a New York State pistol permit. He was cited with a notice of violation and may be facing a fine of up to $15,000.
It is the fourth gun intercepted at the airport so far this year. Since 2015, 49 guns have been intercepted by airport security.
