‘It had me shaking’: East Cleveland police investigate multiple people shot
EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio (WJW) — Acting East Cleveland Police Chief Kenneth Lundy said his department is investigating after multiple people were shot in different locations early Monday morning. The Cleveland Division of Police is also offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible for the shooting.
“We had the first shooting around 1 a.m. at Euclid Avenue and Collamer was crowded with hundreds of people we couldn’t even get down the street with our emergency vehicles,” Lundy told the Fox 8 I-Team. “We literally parked our cars and had to run there to get the victim. We picked him up and rushed him to the ambulance.”

According to a press release later sent out by the police department Monday afternoon, East Cleveland officers heard gunfire coming from the Mobil Gas Station, located at 15317 Euclid Avenue. Lundy said he was back in his vehicle when he heard about 30 rounds of gunfire.
“It had me shaking, it was so close to our vehicles,” the chief said. “I jumped out of my truck and a female ran up to me and said she was shot. The streets were packed so I knew it would take too long to get EMS there so I had her get in the back of my truck and we took her straight to the hospital.”
He said the large crowds were in the Shaw High School area for a reunion.
According to the release, the woman was found and taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. An injured man was also taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
“We had every officer, including myself, working,” Lundy said.
