Head-on crash in Battle Ground leads to death of 20-year-old driver

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A head-on collision in Battle Ground resulted in the death of a 20-year-old driver on Sunday evening.

Around 11:33 p.m., Washington State Patrol found D’antai Nelson dead on State Route 503 near Milepost 12. Law enforcement reported Nelson was driving southbound when he crossed the double-solid yellow line, crashing into a 37-year-old driver head on.

Both vehicles have been totaled, and the second driver is now being treated at a PeaceHealth hospital.

Officials haven’t determined whether drugs or alcohol led to the deadly crash.
