Henry Cavill fans vow to boycott The Witcher after his exit from the Netflix show
The Witcher has streamed the last episodes featuring Henry Cavill before he is replaced - and fans can't believe he's gone.
Henry Cavill fans have vowed to boycott the next series of The Witcher after the show's star exited his role to be replaced by Liam Hemsworth.
Superman star Cavill, 40, was hugely popular with viewers of the Netflix fantasy series - so when he announced his departure with Hemsworth, 33, set to step into his character's shoes, many of his fans said they would be leaving with him.
Netflix has streamed the final episodes with Cavill as lead role Geralt of Rivia in the adaptation of Andrzej Sapkowski's books and it was an emotional watch for his adoring fans.

However, many of Cavill's supporters said they would not be watching the new episodes.

He was supposed to be the Viggo Mortensen to Aragorn, the Ryan Reynolds to Deadpool, the Christian Bale to Patrick Bateman, but the Witcher Netflix showrunners had different plans. What a waste."
Another viewer agreed: "Henry Cavill no longer being Geralt is one of the biggest casting fumbles in media history."

Someone else commented: "henry cavill is geralt of rivia. thank you for bringing life to this character, and fighting for it. irreplaceable and unmatched."
Although Cavill hasn't shared his reasons for leaving The Witcher, he announced his departure in October 2022, saying: "My journey as Geralt Of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for season four.
"In my stead, the fantastic Mr Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men."
