High school students can ride Topeka buses for free for 2024-2025 academic year
TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Topeka Metro is offering a special deal for local high school students for the upcoming academic school year.
Keri Renner, director of marketing and communications with the Topeka Metro, issued a press release Thursday, July 25 that all area high school students holding a valid 2024-2025 student ID can ride metro fixed bus routes for free. To take advantage of this offer, students need to show their student ID to the bus driver when boarding.
Students in middle and grade schools will not be included in this deal. High school students who don’t have a current 2024-2025 school ID will need to pay for rides until they can get their IDs updated. Students can also ride on paratransit buses but must apply for and be approved for eligibility.
New Topeka police chief public input sessions open next month
Renner said students with questions on this topic can call 785-783-7000 for help. A separate promotion for Kids Ride Free will last until Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024.
