High-speed chase ends in rollover crash in Batavia

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A high-speed chase ended in a rollover crash in Batavia early Sunday morning, according to the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office.

Police said they stopped a vehicle being driven by 25-year-old Dandre Cramer just after 1:45 a.m. Sunday for traffic violations on West Main Street. When police approached the vehicle Cramer allegedly took off.

Cramer is alleged to have led deputies on a chase through the city at speeds of over 90 mph before the vehicle crashed on the corner of School Street and Swan Street. He allegedly attempted to flee on foot before he was taken into custody.

Police said a search of the vehicle turned up a defaced Glock Model 19 chambered in 9mm.

Cramer is charged with the following:

  • second-degree criminal possession of a weapon: loaded firearm other than in person’s home/business

  • third-degree criminal possession of a weapon: previous conviction

  • third-degree criminal possession of a weapon: defaced for concealment

  • criminal possession of a weapon: firearm/knife

  • second-degree criminal contempt, two counts

  • second-degree obstructing governmental administration

  • unlawful fleeing

  • resisting arrest
