On Tuesday night, at about 9:40 p.m., police said they responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Northeast John Olsen Avenue and Northeast Von Newmann Drive. When officers arrived, they found a man with gunshot wounds. Police gave the victim aid until paramedics arrived. He was later transported to a hospital and “is recovering from his injuries,” police said.

At roughly 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, the Washington County Tactical Negotiations Team arrested Artmeladze in the parking lot at 11095 NE Evergreen Pkwy, officials said.

“Distractionary devices, which create temporary incapacitation of the offender due to light and sound emitted, were used during this arrest,” Hillsboro police said. “Some members of the community […] likely noticed sound of explosions when this occurred.”

At about 10 p.m. that same night, a search warrant was served at Artmeladze’s house in Alhoa near Southwest 175th Avenue and Southwest Marty Lane.

Artmeladze was booked into the Washington County Jail and charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
