Hot temperatures to return to Sacramento region

(FOX40.COM) — Triple-digit temperatures are expected to return to the Sacramento area following a stretch of cooler days.

Saturday is expected to be the hottest day of the week, as the National Weather Service issued a moderate heat advisory for most of the Sacramento Valley, the foothills, and parts of Northern San Joaquin Valley. The advisory is issued from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday.

Officials said temperatures could reach between 100 and 106 degrees in the Valley and Foothills. Temperatures could get as low as the mid 60s to mid 70s in those areas.

The hottest time of the day is expected to be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and officials urge to limit outdoor activity during the time period.

Temperatures in Sacramento are expected to reach 101 degrees on Saturday and temperatures are expected drop to the mids 90s for the following five days, according to the FOX40 Weather Center.

The NWS recommends the public to stay hydrated, wear sunglasses, a hat and sunscreen if being outside during peak hours is necessary.
